Paul Flynn

They still were at in a seminar in December when Hendry was in full flight making unfullfillable promises. Blogged about it again today.

Robert Peston writes:

"I've spoken to sources at [Centrica and EDF ], and they say there is a make-or-break decision to be made towards the end of the year by ministers - which is whether they are prepared to abandon their previous position that there won't be any substantial subsidies for nuclear, either from taxpayers or customers."

Hendry & co will have to eat many words, and cost the country billions, if they still want to run with the nuclear lobby. Be interesting how steady the LibDems remain on the policy of "no [gross] subsidies".
