I have difficulty in tabling one of these EDMS because one was suspected of including an 'un-parliamentary' word. After much pondering and a 'stewards' inquiry' the word was allowed. I challenge you to spot what it is.
L0BBYING
Date tabled: 24.11.2011
Primary sponsor: Flynn, Paul
Sponsors:That this House calls for Government action on lobbying that would prohibit relatives and partners of Government Ministers from hawking their contacts and influence to the highest bidder in pursuit of lucrative lobbying jobs.
REACHES OF THE MINISTERIAL CODE (No. 2)
- Date tabled: 24.11.2011
- Primary sponsor: Flynn, Paul
- Sponsors:That this House calls for new clarity in the Ministerial Code on declarations of interest on Ministerial engagements that are classified as Ministerial or private; and notes the recent occasions, including the report on the breach of the code by the former Secretary of State for Defence, in which this loophole appears to have been deployed to frustrate transparency.
BIG SOCIETY
- Date tabled: 24.11.2011
- Primary sponsor: Flynn, Paul
- Sponsors:That this House notes that not one Government Minister gave a full answer to the parliamentary written question on when they undertook their Big Society One Day Challenge and the nature and date of their volunteer work; and believes this is further proof that the giant concept of the Big Society has shrivelled into a protozoan nothingness.
BREACHES OF THE MINISTERIAL CODE
- Date tabled: 24.11.2011
- Primary sponsor: Flynn, Paul
- Sponsors:That this House notes that the investigation into the breach of the Ministerial code by the former Secretary of State for Defence was itself a breach of the code which explicitly names the independent adviser as the sole enforcer of the code; regrets that political expediency and the need for a quick fix persuaded the Government to approve an illegitimate, botched and superficial report that disregarded much of the evidence; further notes the additional allegations that have been made since the report's publication; and calls for a new, thorough investigation by the Independent Adviser on Ministerial Standards.
CONDUCT OF HRH DUKE OF EDINBURGH
- Date tabled: 23.11.2011
- Primary sponsor: Flynn, Paul
- Sponsors:Hopkins, Kelvin
That this House regrets the comments of HRH Duke of Edinburgh on wind farms; and believes that such comments reinforce the wisdom of the convention that members of the Royal Family do not comment on political matters.
Hard to believe but the word questioned was 'protozoan.'
