An unlikely hero for democracy today is Tory council house boy Mark Pritchard MP. Previously known only for telling the Speaker that he was not 'f***ing' royalty, Mark was brave or foolhardy in revealing the ugly truth of attempted Tory bullying.
Again Cameron has made a hash of his tactics. A three line whip on an animal welfare issue was unenforceable and uniquely was withdrawn during the course of the debate. The Tory whips have been humiliated. Their authority is weakened. Cameron's threat and attempted bribe have been exposed and ridiculed.
The Tories are revealed as hostile to animal welfare. Did one of them really say that cruelty to animals is an English tradition? They are in for more confrontations with the country if they persist in their planned badger cull and support of hunting. They will lose both of those.
Had a Labour Government fouled up every policy with u-turns and defeats the press would have been howling in derision. Interesting to look forward to how our prostituted British press will spin today's humiliation into a Tory victory.
This is a truly awful Government. Eventually the public will notice.
In a building in Westminster a PM aka Flashman is humiliated by his own party and exposed as a bully. Cheers go up as wild animals are banned from performing in circuses.
Meanwhile on the rest of the planet a third of our worldwide species are due to become extinct this century due to habitat loss, overpopulation, pollution, ocean acidification, deforestation etc etc etc……………………………………………………..
