Not sure what the bill is on daylight saving. Either would be an improvement. Trust the Mail to come up with the worst possible argument.

Is she ageing for that? Most of the arguments I have seen are for sticking to BST year round, which isn't the same as CET.

It seems to me that this is the narrative of the last handful of years: e public are way ahead. On war, drugs, cuts, welfare, multiculturalism, the EU. The first leader to stand up and lead will find that their opposition is only the media and other politicians, and these will switch when they see the public mood.
