The best thing which i found here is the joyful Christmas music and the happy go jolly family. It is really a nostalgic blog i have ever read.

Pete

Yeah, Christmas music is really an amazing music. Each and everyone, from a kid to an adult loves this music. And even the santa books are also very fantastic.

MessageForce

The importance of family can only be understood by the person who has remained away from it for quite a long time. I am one such sufferer.

StorageCraft

I am actually feeling jealous by seeing the whole family together because i was separated from my family tis Christmas and am feeling very depressed. Please can i meet them again.

"Better things are ahead."

Oh yes. Things can only get better (remember?). Bercow will either lose to Nigel Farage or be booted out in the new Parliament for being a Labour-chosen speaker. And there's the end of New Labour (which has already happened, with merely the wake to be held). The end of the Labour regime, too. The end of Gordon Brown.

Oh yes, better things are ahead.

Paul Flynn

On Monday of this week, Speaker Bercow got through all 25 questions on the Order Paper in 45 minutes. This is a very rare achievement, the result of Bercow 's orchestration of Question Time. The questions are now briefer, pithy with most of the waffle gone. No previous Speaker has altered parliamentary procedure so beneficially in a few brief months. Better things are ahead.

greg

isn't that what I just wrote, Jonny?

Actually yes, Merry Xmas to Bercow et al, I'm sure they're a lovely family. *That said*, if I hear he's put the personalized card down as an office expense I'm going to full of bah-humbuggery!

jonny

strikes me as odd that the guy who's apparently going to be the great reforming Speaker thinks this story wasn't going to play in the Telegraph, and is also the consistently top of the league when it comes to expenses and had to repay 10K overclaiming on his mortgage.

Kay Tie

I thought the card was great: genuine smiles all round. I just don't think Bercow is a good speaker. But he'll be gone soon enough.

Tut ! Tut !
What a mean minded seasonal lack of goodwill from Scrooge-minded miseries.

Do you see all life through a prism of malice?

Cheer-up! It's Christmas!

Jolly Roger

The unseasonal card from the Bercow clan,
Seems to made to a well choreographed plan.
There is a secret, however, that must be tol',
Is Mrs. Bercow sat in a hole?
Although she's sylph-like and quite slim,
She's almost a foot taller than him,
But in the piccy she seems to have shrunk,
Or is it just more NuLabour bunk?

greg

Is that the same kind of thing as Lord Irvine having the nation's wallpaper?

Personally, I went to Mothercare to toddler-proof my house: pretty sure that I paid for it myself and it didn't cost thousands - if nothing else, in the current economic climate it's tactless.

It just strikes me as odd that the guy who's apparently going to be the great reforming Speaker thinks this story wasn't going to play in the Telegraph, and is also the consistently top of the league when it comes to expenses and had to repay 10K overclaiming on his mortgage (if you believe the Mail). Almost makes me think the monkey's been given the key to the banana plantation....

"He is shaping up to be a great Speaker. He has already change parliament for the better."

Don't see much evidence. What happened to the "announcements must be made to the House before the media" new regime? Just hot air.

Paul Flynn

I've seen some of these comments, Greg. They are all unfair and part of the Telegraph's political agenda. It's not the Speaker's House. It belongs to the nation. Much of the work is necessary to make the place safe for toddlers.

He is shaping up to be a great Speaker. He has already change parliament for the better.

greg

maybe Bercow's feeling festive because he's just spent 45k of other people's money fixing up his residence?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/mps-expenses/6563587/Speaker-John-Bercows-official-residence-refurbished-for-45000.html

Or possibly because he's consistently been in the top 3 of 'additional expense claims' since 2002?

http://order-order.com/2009/05/19/the-case-against-john-bercow-in-numbers/

I have to say I'm sure I'd be able to crack a festive smile with my family if I'd been able to claim those sort of figures!

Subject: Being well briefed is everything
