The Government is rewarding the abject failures of Steria and punishing the brilliant success of Newport Shared Services.
Steria are part of the group responsible for a loss of £56million. The Government has simply written it off and given Steria a new contract with an invitation to export local jobs overseas.
Newport MOJ Shared Services saved the country £32million in their first two years of operation from 2006-08. They have multiplied that surplus every year taking on new contracts. Why penalise success? Why savage the Newport economy to offshore jobs to other countries”.
You have justice, sense and truth on your side. The Government is cynically cutting regardless of the human consequences. They have not learned from the giant failures of privatisations of Atos, G4S and Capita.
Their doctrinaire and public services view blind them to the quality and efficiency of public services – even ones that have delivered magnificently as Newport Shared Services”.
