Paul I agree with you. Thank God our backbenchers saved us from entering another disastrous war in Syria. We should never have gone into Iraq. Our interference has resulted in untold misery for all the people of the region and I believe has destabilised the entire Arab world, the ramifications/consequences of which the rest of the world endure today.
At the time PM Tony Blair was hell bent at all cost to send Britain to war. I believe it was Tony Blair's arrogance, self import and inflated ego (trying to outdo Margaret Thatcher) that drove him to put us at war with Sadam Husain.
