Dangerous to believe the self-serving pleas of the NFU. Thy will want new subsidies to stop increasing the flooding risks in the catchment areas Some Government has to challenge them for the benefit of the flooded homes and farms/.

Just a thought. On shore windfarms will change runoff characteristics of areas where they are located. Maybe there should be some artificial lakes.

Also NFU lobby says wetlands are useless,but in
many parts of the world people harvest shrimps from flooded fields. Why not in UK ?
