John Prescott's anger on Newsnight tonight trapped News of World sleazeball to admit that Murdoch authorised the publication of Harry's picture.
It was odd discussion. Sleazeball, urbane, sneering superior repeatedly attack John Prescott because he is 'elderly.' John's story that the editors had got together and decided not to print the picture appears to be true. The Sun for purely commercial reasons ratted on the deal. One other editor was quoted confirming this to another journalist. Thus passes self-regulation. The editors cannot trust one another.
Leveson should be asking himself one question. BBC/ITV are forced by their charters to provided political balance. The tabloids are outrageously prostituted for twisted political ends.
Who do the public trust?..... BBC/ITV.
