If, as the Coalition maintains, it's wrong to pass the burden of debt on to our children and granchildren, how can it be right to gift them a toxic legacy of nuclear waste to clear up?

Paul Flynn

Or allow Russian crooks or Chinese billionaires to feat off new nuclear subsdies now Japan has proved the fragility of nuclear power.

Tony Roberts

Dear Paul,

Please raise the question of why EDF should require a £60 billion subsidy for four nuclear reactors that should cost only (only!) £20 billion to build at the next Energy Questions.

Why should British consumers give a vast windfall to the French treasury in return for a relatively small amount of power generation but a great deal of nuclear waste?
