Mr Clarke was the first head teacher of Pillgwenlly Joan Todd replaced him when he retired. She was an amazing piano player who run the school choir and amateur dramatics we used to love the choir all musical theatre songs Oliver Twist and she always spoke in Welsh Diolch Yn Fawr

Joan was a wonderful lady with a down to earth sense of humour and such a positive outlook. A necessary attribute for a teacher. The times spent with Joan and Neil are some of my very best memories. I will really miss her. The world will miss her.
