On Tuesday I have to deliver a new version of my book Commons' Knowledge to the publishers.
The previous ediaion published in 1997 is still in print and was bought by most of the new backbenchers. It is not a dry account of Commons' procedure. It is intended to be a lively account of the serious and frivolous life of parliament by someone who loves the place and has made all the mistakes that I urge others to avoid.
Writing a book of this kind is never really finished as the situation changes. Since 1997, the Wright reforms, Speakers Berco and the Expenses sacnadal has transformed parliament.
I am still searching for examples of brilliant questions, speeches, select committee challenges made by backbenchers since 1997. Suggestions area welcome.
