I had a wonderful day driving a favourite former employee of mine Kate Lewis to visit my favourite Intern Karen Cumberland in deepest Somerset. Karen is on a visit from her home country Canada and staying with close friends the Cornish family.
We had a wonderful traditional Sunday Dinner with some Canadian wine and cider. Catching up with the news of the past seven years was exhilarating fun. The first picture shows left to right Karen , Glastonbury Tor and Kate. The second shows the magnificently hospitable Cornish family including cool dog. Thanks to all for an unforgettable day

Newport County 1 Woking O
Newport Gwent Dragons 28 Ospreys 20
Two splendid victories for Newport yesterday. I was at the Newport County game. The result thickens the icing on their promotion cake. The Dragons' results mock the failure of Wales' selectors to include many Dragons players in the Wales team.
Well done!
Full time?
In the past I have devoted generous blog space to serving MPs Adam Ingram and Richard Caborn.
They both earn their wages of £65,000 for doing a full-time job as MPs. How can they find spare time to do jobs that pay them £70,000 in Caborn's case and £170,000 for Ingram? They have never given any explanation that makes sense.
Te Sunday Times and Dispatches gave them the sting treatment. They think they have done no wrong in seeking vast sums for services of little or no value.
If they are sincere in that belief, and they may be, they are too stupid to be employed by anybody.
'Pandemic that never was'
The Guardian tomorrow carries an account of the report I will be presenting to the Council of Europe tomorrow.
Not sure which one it was of the two quoted in the Times article that said 'he regretted getting caught' - so nothing about that he was touting himself round like whore to the highest bidder ..
